It’s not every day that you can have your jewelry created, crafted, and cared for by the very hands that shaped football’s most iconic trophy: the Lombardi Trophy.

Well, actually, at Vanscoy, Maurer and Bash Diamond Jewelers in Lancaster PA, it is every day.

We believe every piece of jewelry tells a story—a story of love, celebration, and legacy. Behind every sparkle lies the meticulous work of a skilled artisan, and we are thrilled to spotlight the driving force behind our custom designs: our master bench jeweler, Stephanie Perrotti, who had the extraordinary honor of working on the Lombardi Trophy.

Steph is as talented as she is humble. But we want to take a moment to recognize and celebrate her unique experience handcrafting the legendary Super Bowl trophy during her time at Tiffany & Co.’s hollowware department in Parsippany, New Jersey.

Steph’s talent, care, and creativity are part of the service of excellence you can expect at Vanscoy, Maurer and Bash.

So, how did Steph go from shaping the Super Bowl trophy to setting your engagement rings and creating your custom designs?

A Championship Beginning

Before joining the Vanscoy, Maurer and Bash Diamond Jewelers family here in Lancaster, PA, our bench jeweler honed her craft at one of the most prestigious workshops in the world. There, she contributed her skills to creating the legendary Lombardi Trophy, awarded annually to Super Bowl champions. Her expertise wasn’t just in fabricating silver; it was in capturing the essence of greatness in a tangible form. Every detail of the trophy, from the perfect curvature to its gleaming finish, reflects Steph’s commitment to excellence.

How is the Lombardi Trophy made?

Tiffany & Co. has crafted the highly sought-after 22-inch, 8.75-pound trophy since the inaugural Super Bowl in 1967. It’s made of sterling silver (even down to the laces!), and takes craftspeople like Steph four months to create in the company’s hollowware shop. In 1970, it was renamed in honor of Vince Lombardi, the late Green Bay Packers coach who guided the team to victory in the first two Super Bowls.

The trophy's original design was created by Oscar Riedener, a former Vice President at Tiffany & Co., who sketched the concept on a napkin during a 1966 meeting with then-NFL Commissioner Pete Rozelle. The design showcases a regulation-size football positioned as if ready for a kick.

Bringing World Class Talent to Your Jewelry

“It was an honor and privilege to work on some of the most iconic and sought-after trophies in the world,” says Steph. “I still prioritize quality and attention to detail, though my work at Vanscoy, Maurer and Bash Diamond Jewelers is on a much smaller scale than the pieces I crafted at Tiffany & Co.” When Steph works on your jewelry, you can rest assured that she brings her incredible expertise to each project. “I’m a perfectionist,” she says, “and each piece I work on benefits from the skills I’ve honed over the last 20+ years working in the industry.”

Bench Jeweler Steph Perrotti crafts the Lombardi Trophy

Working on a piece as celebrated as the Lombardi Trophy requires an unparalleled level of precision, patience, and artistry. These qualities are the foundation of Steph’s approach to every piece she creates here at Vanscoy, Maurer and Bash Diamond Jewelers.

Whether it’s a diamond solitaire engagement ring, a meaningful pendant, or a pair of wedding bands, our bench jeweler brings the same passion and meticulous attention to detail that she did to the Lombardi Trophy. Her talent lies in transforming raw materials into stunning masterpieces that resonate with emotion and elegance - from the Super Bowl, to your wedding day, and every special moment in between.

The care Steph puts into her custom design work speaks for itself. Pictured below, Steph transformed a beloved late father’s wedding band into three new pieces to be cherished by his daughters. Whether working with a customer to bring their vision to life, or transforming a beloved family heirloom for generations to come, we’re proud to have her talent and empathy play an integral part of each and every jewelry design journey.
